국제출원서가 영어 이외의 언어로 작성되었고 국제공개도 영어로 되지 않은 경우 미국 국내단계 진입시 국제출원서의 영어 번역문을 제출하여야 한다.
번역문은 국제출원서의 제출된 바대로의 번역이어야 하며 PCT rule 26 규정에서 허용된 변경(change)이나 PCT rule 91 규정에서 허용된 수정(recification)만이 허용된다.
